Medina County Auditor Receives Financial
Reporting Award

The office of Medina County Auditor Michael Kovack was
awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in
Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers
Association (GFOA). This is the eighteenth consecutive
time Kovack’s office has received this recognition
for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR).
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of
recognition in governmental accounting and financial
reporting, and its attainment represents a significant
accomplishment by a government and its management.
“We are delighted to accept this award again,”
Kovack said. “Recognition has to go to my Director
of Financial Reporting, Ann Wagar, for overseeing all
aspects of this important function of my office.”
The CAFR was judged by an impartial panel to meet the
high standards of the program including demonstrating a
constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to
clearly communicate its financial story and motivate
potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.
