World Wide Web Information

We do record a visitor’s IP address and the date and time of a web request. These include, but are not limited to web page requests, ftp requests, and email.

Each Internet user is assigned a unique IP address by their Internet Service Provider for each session that they are connected to the internet, and ISPs keep logs of who was assigned what when.

We will make such logs available to any law enforcement agency.

COPPA Law

The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act is enforced by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). Certain commercial web sites must obtain parental permission before collecting, using, or disclosing personal information from children under that age of 13.

We do not request age, gender, race, creed or other discrimination-sensitive information from our website visitors through any of our forms and request that our website visitors do not include this type of information in any request made to us from this website.

If a child has been added to any list by that child having filled out a form at this site and the parent or legal guardian requests us to remove that child from our list, we will endeavor to do so as soon as practical.

Email & Fora

From time to time our website visitors fill out a form and include their email address, or type in their email address when subscribing to “email notification” of some type.

Those requests — as well as private email to the auditor or employee of the auditor’s office — are not part of a forum of any kind that another website visitor or the general public can view. As such, this information is not of the public realm and shall not be made available under any notion that this is public information. (We hold fast to the notions under The Putnam Pit, Inc vs. City of Cookeville that we maintain a private fora).

We do not sell or give away email addresses.

If any subscriber or person who has contacted us through this website has given us an email address and wishes to be removed from that list, we will endeavor to do so as soon as practical.

Knowingly Giving us False Information

Knowingly providing FALSE information to a public official is a violation of Section 2921.13A5 of the Ohio Revised Code is a Misdemeanor of the first degree.

The existence of web pages

We reserve the right to discontinue any web page on this web site, as well as change pages on a frequent basis at our will and discretion. Any pages held in memory in one’s computer, at an ISP or elsewhere might not be the current version, if any, of the page.

Suspicious, erroneous & unwonted web requests

From time to time, we might receive (have received) http & ftp requests for sensitive files. We have also received or can reasonably expect to receive such requests so formulated as to attempt to “break in” to our website. In addition, we have received numerous http requests that cause our scripts and programs to respond to robots rather than “live” website visitors.

For any of these requests — or for any reason related to our website’s functioning or Internet security — we absolutely reserve the right to block any numbered IP address or series of such addresses, or reject web page or other http, ftp, SMTP, POP3, SNMP requests.

It is our policy to allow robots to fetch all linked htm pages from our www directory as we endeavor to provide robots information in our robots.txt file.
